MANCHESTER UNITED are closing in on the signing of Besiktas on-loan striker Anderson Talisca, according to reports.

The Red Devils are set for a huge summer window as they look to close the gap on Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho has told United chiefs that he wants similar funds to what Pep Guardiola has had.

The Etihad outfit spent over £250m this season, including record-signing Aymeric Laporte who signed in January for £57m.

And City have ran away with the Premier League this season, topping the table by 16 points.

There are a number of positions Mourinho wants to reinforce, including midfield and defence.

But with Zlatan Ibrahimovic most likely leaving at the end of the season, the club are chasing a new striker to alleviate the pressure on Romelu Lukaku.

And according to A Bola, that man is Brazilian forward Talisca.

The 24-year-old is on loan at Besiktas from Benfica this season where he has made a huge impression.

He has scored 10 goals in 24 appearances for the Turkish giants.

Wolves are another club interested in him but the Portuguese publication reports that United are in pole position.

The Brazilian received his first call-up to the national squad this month for their matches next week.

And according to A Bola, there is an agreement in place that the former Bahia hotshot will move to Old Trafford for £35m.
